Introduction
"Skills Navigator® helps educators save time by pinpointing discrete skill gaps to focus instruction and close achievement gaps"- © 2016 NWEA
|
Connections have been made that educators who utilize the Skills Navigator as a supplemental teaching resource have a higher number of students meet their middle and end of year learning goals in comparison to those who do not. Teachers will learn how to access and navigate Student Profiles and use the Next-Generation Reports to help students close learning gaps.
You should be able to accurately use your student's MAP reading, language, science and math test data by implementing the Skills Navigator as an academic resource of differentiation in their classroom instruction. |
What to expect:In order for you to successfully meet the learning goal, this website has been created with specific steps. The first step is to go through the introduction page. This will ensure you have a clear understanding of the website learning goal. During step two, you will view a concept web/mind map on how to read data reports. Following the completion of the mind map, you will complete a survey. Once you have completed the survey, you will move onto the third step where you will learn how to access your classes on the Skills Navigator. During this step, you will explore how to locate student goals, and how to set up and use the Skills Navigator. Before you move on to the fourth step, you will take a quiz covering the material from the previous pages of this web page. Lastly, you will sign up for a conference date and time to review the Skills Navigator using your class data. On the fourth step you will also download the Student Goal Setting Worksheet and using your class data, will complete a sample worksheet to show you understand the main concepts of using Skills Navigator. You will bring this to our conference time!
